Jalapeno poppers (internet pic but they all look the same 😉 )
I'll put a recipe in the recipe forum.Good Lord, this is my dream thread!
I am a sucker for any variation of jalapeno poppers and deviled eggs.
My favorite poppers are the OGs on the scene. Stuffed with cream cheese, battered, and deep fried. At least, that's the way they were prepared the first time I ever had them. That was at a place I worked at over 30 years ago.
The bacon-wrapped and grilled ones were reserved for fancy places.
Deviled eggs I'll eat any way they are prepared. My MIL usually makes them but has passed that particular food prep on to my oldest son. Nothing too off the wall. Miracle Whip, mustard, relish juice, and a tad of sugar. That was the recipe that my MIL always made.
He has since changed the mustard to Honey Mustard and doesn't use sugar. They are really good!
Looking at the graphic provided by @Shane R, I'm thinking we're going to have to try the jalapeno poppers version one day.
Sounds like what we call Scotch Eggs up here (egg surrounded by a sausage/breadcrumb coating). How about 'Dillo Eggs?
Not exactly because a Dillo egg doesn't have an egg inside. It's a euphemism for a jalapeno popper encased in ground meat. Sometimes also wrapped with bacon.Sounds like what we call Scotch Eggs up here (egg surrounded by a sausage/breadcrumb coating).
