A friend shared this graphic with me yesterday:

Reminded me of a lady at my previous church (I'm an ordained minister) who brought a different flavor of deviled eggs nearly every time she made them.

Then I started thinking about some other tasty apps I like. I've got a recipe for stuffed mushrooms that I mostly copied from Kent Rollins that is a party favorite.

And I love putting together some Super Bowl platters. What are your favorites?

Good Lord, this is my dream thread!

I am a sucker for any variation of jalapeno poppers and deviled eggs.

My favorite poppers are the OGs on the scene. Stuffed with cream cheese, battered, and deep fried. At least, that's the way they were prepared the first time I ever had them. That was at a place I worked at over 30 years ago.

The bacon-wrapped and grilled ones were reserved for fancy places. ;)

Deviled eggs I'll eat any way they are prepared. My MIL usually makes them but has passed that particular food prep on to my oldest son. Nothing too off the wall. Miracle Whip, mustard, relish juice, and a tad of sugar. That was the recipe that my MIL always made.

He has since changed the mustard to Honey Mustard and doesn't use sugar. They are really good!

Looking at the graphic provided by @Shane R, I'm thinking we're going to have to try the jalapeno poppers version one day.

How about 'Dillo Eggs? I developed a real taste for them when I lived in TX. Although a couple of the places in Corpus Christi made them about as big as a grenade, which goes beyond an appetizer.

Another I've fallen in love with since moving further North is corn nuggets. These are something like a hush puppy but with creamed corn filling. I've never attempted to make them but I have eaten a goodly number.

I'll put a recipe in the recipe forum.
How about 'Dillo Eggs?
Sounds like what we call Scotch Eggs up here (egg surrounded by a sausage/breadcrumb coating).

Not exactly because a Dillo egg doesn't have an egg inside. It's a euphemism for a jalapeno popper encased in ground meat. Sometimes also wrapped with bacon.

This has the flavor elements I like about a cheese ball but is much easier to use, since it's dippable.
