I made this a while back, didn't have a recipe at the time, but it didn't turn out to bad.

Ingredients
1 lb Navy beans
Squirrels I used 3
1 small can of diced green chilies
1 pkg of McCormick White chicken chili mix
Cumin, didn't measure, just dumped some in
Chipotle chili pepper, didn't measure, just dumped some in.

Instructions
Cook the squirrels in the crockpot till tender and easy to shred
Cook beans on the stovetop with all the other stuff till the beans are done and then stir in the shredded squirrels.

Next time I make it I'm going to add some jalapenos to give it a little more kick

I'm gonna go out on what I feel is a very strong limb and guess you source your own squirrels.

I've got 3 that visit my bird feeder everyday so this might be a way to put them to good use. 🧐

I've not had squirrel, is it gamey?

I consider squirrels far too much effort for far too little payoff so I leave 'em alone. Plus they don't tear up my veg gardens. Rabbits on the other hand get nailed every time I see them. Yeah, they're a bit of work but besides the meat you get the hide. Tanned bunny fur makes great glove linings. They're warm and soft :)

The squirrels have not allowed me to get any peaches off my peach tree in over 20 years, figured it was time to get my peaches back. Lol

Yes, I either walk around the field or go up behind the pond to get them. As far as gamey taste, I don't think so. I took some to work for a girl to try, and she had no clue what it was till after she ate it and I told her.

Here's some pics from up above the pond, there's a deer in one of them Plant community Plant Tree Wood Natural landscape

OK here we go. Beans do not belong in chili. Sorry just my opinion. But with only 3 squirrels you had to add something. And I know cooking is to individual taste so..............
