Our youngest son hosted a Mardi Gras Party yesterday…Tuesday is Fat Tuesday and Wednesday
is Mardi Gras. Look at the bread he made! …for the muffulettas he made the olive mix and and he
also made Jambalaya with andouille sausage and shrimp…for dessert he made beignets and brownies…everything was festive and delicious…he does all the cooking in his house, his wife sets the table and does the cleanup…what a team. I was full after the appetizers. And the drinks were Hurricanes…I had two, delicious. 😋 he emailed me that he forgot to put out the Mardi Gras slaw.

Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday" and is the celebratory carnival that leads up to the beginning of Lent, the season of fasting and penitence. It gets its name from the practice of consuming foods that would be forbidden during Lent leading up to the beginning of the fast on Ash Wednesday.
