When I was a kid, used to love that Lawry's seasoned salt and, later, that commercial with that brassy black lady in it.

Trouble is, it's SO HIGH in sodium, my arteries harden just thinking about it.

But, I can make my own for all kinds of things:

GENERAL INGREDIENTS
1/2 part iodized salt
1 to 1 and 1/2 parts mild paprika
1 part hot paprika
1 part black pepper, ground OR 1/2 part black pepper powder
2 parts ground coriander

Mix together, put in shaker and use. So good and it'll keep the doctors happy, too. (Live patients pay, dead ones don't.)

THOUGHTS AND VARIATIONS
You can use other spices, though I'd go light on something like cumin powder, which is powerful in its own special way. You could also give it that Med flavor with powdered marjoram, thyme or even rosemary.

I like to use this on fish, I feel a recipe thread coming on . . . .

I lived in Virginia for some years. The basic recipe for pulled pork started with absolutely encasing your pork butt in seasoned salt and keeping it moist with apple cider vinegar. I keep a canister around. It's not my go to for anything but it is useful for many things.

Dave - it's seasoned SALT. Personally, I bought it once and let the can expire because I found I never used it; making personal concoctions like yours instead.
Yes you buy salt you get salt. I have a shaker I bought about a year ago. I have just started to use it. Its very fine like table salt so it great when you want it to stick to food.
I used it on wings the other night. I couldn't tell/taste it. But I used it. Another whim purchase. I think I saw someone on TV recommending it for fried chicken.

The only recipe I have for making a coating for wings is hot sauce in melted butter - I think you need that fatty liquid to get things to stick to the chicken.
