My guy loves Irish Soda Bread…I make it all year round…I use Ina Gatners
recipe…I find it’s the best…I usually put dried cranberries instead of currents
or raisins, cause I’m not to crazy for raisins..I always add walnuts to the bread.👍
however, I just bought raisins to try making it with raisins and walnuts.👍

This is a delicious bread and it’s even better toasted with sweet butter.
I don’t use the orange zest and I add an extra tablespoon of sugar to the recipe.

I also make it in my food processor…when I take it out of the food processor to kneed
it by hand for a few minutes…that is when I add the walnuts.
here’s the link…

You mentioned orange zest. That reminded me of some Swedish Rye rolls for years ago. Father of sons girlfriend at the time made them. Delicious and I've never found a recipe like that.

I don't often eat oranges but those rolls were as you say Deliciouso. Had a licorice taste also as I recall.

They must have used anise seed as well, to get the licorice flavor…why don’t you try making them…put in some orange zest and some anise seed in a basic roll recipe.
I never thought about that. Another project. I ain't made the peanut butter cookies yet.

Well, you‘re falling behind. You know those rolls that I made would be good for this,
just add the orange zest and anise seed.
I just finished vac packing and stowing 9 lbs of chicken breasts in the freezer. These things would put Raquel Welch to shame. 1 lb + each. Got 6 breast to go for a total of 24 I think, might be 30 lost count. Price is right.
