Hi. My name is Steve (natch) and I live in Minnesota, too. Currently I have a love/hate relationship with cooking: I love it far more when menu planning and grocery shopping than I sometimes do when it's actually time to stand in front of the stove and get to it. Most days, that isn't a problem. But some days...

I learned to cook because my mother insisted that all us kids needed to know how to feed ourselves on some basic level. I think the first dishes I prepared were omelets and Hamburger Helper. I've graduated well beyond that. I've learned to cook some cuisines in self defense -- when I moved out to the Midwest I wasn't sure I'd find the kind of Asian cooking I'd gotten used to growing up near New York City. At first, I was right. But local restaurants have graduated well beyond that, too.

Right now I'm cooking primarily for just my wife and I though I enjoy cooking for a crowd, whether that's grandchildren (offering some food they've never tried before) or cabin buddies. I'm also diabetic, so I keep it on the low-carb side. Was never a fan of all that gooey stuff anyway.

I'm looking forward to meeting more of you and talking food and cooking!

Welcome, @Steve-o; so glad you found your way here! We are still getting underway, but things are ticking along fairly well so far. Don't hesitate to reach out should you have any suggestions or questions.

In the meantime, I look forward to hearing about some low-carb cooking!
