Apparently, Puxatauny Phil has spoken, or at least seen his shadow, and declared that we still have six more weeks of winter. In light of the fact that I'm not too fond of winter and am ready for warmer temperatures, I decided to search for ways to rid ourselves of Phil and his prediction.

The internet did not disappoint...

I wonder if they are kin to raccoons. The nanny language filters are offended.

I'm beginning to think our ground rat here is confused. We have 65 overnight and going to 75 today then 68 overnight dropping to 55 in the AM, frontal passage and falling like a rock to 38.

No snow likely here of that I can be sure but our local weather people can't decide if or when it's going to rain today or tomorrow and whether or not the temp will drop to near freezing.

My weather guessers are having the same problem for over the weekend. They're saying rain but there's a chance of freezing rain depending on where you are. Naturally I live on edge of the "better than average chance of sleet and freezing rain" blob.

This being the south, the roads will be littered with cars in ditches, car wrecks, morons who think 4 wheel drive is effective on icy roads and drivers who really shouldn't on the roads to begin with. Me? I'm staying home. I know how to drive on icy roads (I took my driver's test in CT on ice packed roads and passed the first time...lol), I just won't risk my life with the morons out there.

NC is that warm already? Though I will admit a few more of these warm days and our confused ones will pop out of the ground.

We've been having a mild winter with the highs running 5-7° warmer than average. Then there are the 65-72° days. Heck it got up to 75° yesterday! I'm on the western edge of the Piedmont region, closer to the mountains than the beach. And the rain every 5-7 days cycle is starting at least a month early. It'll be nice for those days, followed by 2-4 days of rain for at least a month.
